Hosin

Hosin or self-defense as a practice builds awareness and therefore reaction time. The goal is to have the awareness to see an attack, and respond immediately to that threat. Continual practice is needed to achieve these abilities. 

Escape & Counter

Beginner Ranks

At this level you are escaping from a variety of attacks & then countering to remove your attackers breath, sight or mobility.

The attacks start by rank,  with a low threat level (wrist or sholulder grabs) to a higher threat level (Punches & Kicks).

Arm Bars

Intermediate Ranks

At this level you are being introduced to arm bars as a concept which can be used as a hold to control an opponent, or as a breaking technique. 

Armbars use wrist, elbow and shoulder to control your opponents body. To apply the armbar, the elbow is kept straight and the wrist is pulled up.

Knife

Advanced Ranks

At this level we are examining ways to control the opponents wrist, in order to defend against knife stabs, slashes and neck threats. 

Whenever defending against knife attacks, wrist control is imperative. Controlling the wrist that holds the knife, prevents any movements that would result in further harm.
